An artists' book designed and produced in an ordered and cyclical fashon. Artist Susan Rothenberg worked on the mezzotint plates in series with poet Robert Creeley, who wrote a twelve line poem for each print. This cycle was enacted nine times, with the presentation of the mezzotints and the poems corresponding to the order of title, print, and poem. The book evokes a familiarity from emergent parts that construe, as the pages are turned, into a single creature, created by memory and the light of the mezzotint plate
